This was the title of a wonderful WSJ Article written by Tim Carroll…..read Tim’s Article.
I emailed Tim a fan letter and he was kind enough to respond. In his note he shared with me an interesting practice game that he learned about years ago.
“I read about a practice regimen for an aspiring Tour pro who teed off one day from the forward tees with driver on the 4s and 5s and learned how to make birdies even when you’re 5 or 6 under as you make the turn, and then the next day he teed off from the back but had to use an iron/hybrid, so he could learn how to struggle.”
An interesting practice strategy we could all benefit from. Although most of us wouldn’t be working on 5 or 6 under! A generally good life lesson too. The value of struggling in life is we learn.
