SETUP

Before teeing off:

1. Set a dollar value per point (e.g., $1, $5, or “I’ll explain this to my spouse later”).

2. Agree on the scoring scale:

Typical Point Values

• Par = 1 point

• Birdie = 2 points

• Eagle = 4 points

NOTE: A group of less talented players may start point eligibility at bogey or better.

HOW TO EARN POINTS

On any hole where you make a par or better, you earn points based on your score.

Once you earn points, you immediately face a crucial life decision:

• Bank it – Lock in the points. They’re safe forever.

• Let it Ride – Keep the points “live” and eligible to grow on the next hole.

LETTING IT RIDE (THE FUN PART)

If you choose to let your points ride:

• Your current unbanked points DOUBLE on the next hole if you again make a par or better.

• Each consecutive qualifying hole continues the streak and keeps doubling the value.

Example:

• Hole 5: Par = 1 point – let it ride

• Hole 6: Par = points now worth 3 points 

2 points from doubling hole 5 and 1 point for another Par.
Feeling unstoppable? Let it ride…..

• Hole 7: Birdie = accumulated points now worth 8 points

THE CATCH (OF COURSE THERE IS ONE)

If you’re riding points and make a bogey or worse:

• All unbanked points go to ZERO

• Banked points remain safe and untouchable

Greed giveth, greed taketh away.

SCORING & PAYOUT

• Only banked points count at the end of the round.

• Players are paid (or pay) based on the difference in total points between players.

• Multiply the point difference by the agreed dollar value.
