Emerald Valley Golf Club – a review
Share this Article:
I recently had the pleasure of playing Emerald Valley Golf Club. What a wonderful course. The staff was super friendly, the course was in wonderful condition and had a really enjoyable layout. The course conditions were amazing for November. Fairways were dry and the greens fast. I was feeling cocky on the front nine finishing at 2 over, and then came the back nine. It’s a bit more challenging and my hopes for posting a really good score were quickly dashed. The pro shop said they hear that story frequently.

There are big things happening at EVGC. A new club house is slated for 2025 and course and range improvements are in the works. There is even talk of an additional Par 3 course on adjacent property.
I played with my son-in-law Hank and when we finished, one of the club pros offered to give us a tour of The Jake. This is the newly finished practice facilities for the University of Oregon golf teams, inspired by Peter Jacobson. What an amazing facility, state of the art throughout. It even has a computerized putting green that will trace your putt in lights and show exact breaks. I was proud to have made an earlier donation to the effort.
